The Polio Survivors Rotary Action Group has an ongoing partnership with Wheels of Hope. Wheels of Hope is a unique 501 (c) 3 international leadership project of the Rotary Club of Traverse City, Michigan, and a partnership agreement with The Naraguta Rotary Club located in Jos, Nigeria.
This group is actively seeking contributions to give the gift of mobility and independence by providing a free wheelchair to polio survivors in the northern states of Nigeria, Africa. Your purchase makes an ideal gift, program honorarium, special recognition or congratulations—while providing mobility to Nigerian polio victims. This project will furnish all participating (donor) Rotary Clubs and individuals with certificates and polio survivor pictures. $150 USD purchases one wheelchair. Club project buys at levels ranging from 25 to 100 chairs are encouraged. Wheelchairs are built from bicycle parts purchased in Nigeria by local workers at the
Beautiful Gate Handicapped Peoples Center in Jos, Nigeria, with oversight and financial control by local Rotarians.
Polio Survivors Rotary Action Group has worked with the Beautiful Gate Center before — you can check out the project information by clicking here.
